Let's Talk About...Cocktails!

At the Tipsy Trailer Mobile Bar Co., we are always looking for fun new recipes for our clients (and ourselves!)

While we always think you should drink what you like (even despite what sommeliers would say regarding wine pairings…shhhhh!) there are always fun new ideas for tasty sips each year. Food & Wine Magazine has a great article on “22 Cocktails to make in 2022” (Food & Wine Magazine, Jan 2022). We are planning on trying several of these recipes this year at The Tipsy Trailer Mobile Bar Company.

Some of their predictions sound amazing: twists on classic cocktails (we love a simple Old Fashioned, but it’s even more fun with different bitters or infused syrups!); cocktails topped with bubbles (DEFINITELY one of our favorites—our Fall French 75 was a hit at several events last year!); and low- or no-alcohol cocktails (really great for keeping it mellow and including those who choose not to imbibe).

We love to play with seasonal ingredients found here locally in Palisade, Colorado (sometimes even in our very own gardens!) to make unique and flavorful simple syrups and mixers. We have a craft cocktail list of our favorites for our clients to choose from, but really enjoy making concoctions unique to them and their story. We look forward to some unique and fun recipe tasting this year!

Since it is spring in Western Colorado, we have been playing with some fun spring ingredients. So far, the favorite is the Garden Spring Margarita!

What are some of your favorite ingredients for spring cocktails?

Garden Spring Margarita

Combine in a shaker with ice:

2 oz. silver tequila (also wonderful with vodka!)

2 oz. cucumber juice

1 oz. fresh lime

3/4 oz. basil simple syrup (also great with agave!)

Shake it all up with a dash of salt and serve over ice with basil and cucumber (or anything fresh on hand!)
